Late Night Storm Passes through Central Baltimore County

August 28, 2009 - At approximately 12:30am, LVFC received its first storm-related call of the night and responded to a single vehicle accident on the inner loop of I-695 between Dulaney Valley and Providence Roads. As the storm moved through the region during the early morning hours, Station 30 responded to approximately 20 calls throughout Lutherville and central Baltimore County. Due to the high volume of calls, LVFC members fully staffed all apparatus throughout the night, as several LVFC units and other Baltimore County units were continuously on the road for several hours providing emergency services to the community. As the vicious storm brought large amounts of rain and wind to the region, a large concentration of significant storm damage occurred throughout Historic Lutherville, resulting in numerous downed power lines, fallen trees and substantial property damage. Units responding throughout the early morning hours included: E307, E301, U304 and S303.
