LVFC Responds to Dwelling Fire off of Falls Road: Fire Box 50-11

September 26, 2009 - At approximately 12:38am, Squad 303 was alerted to respond to the report of a dwelling fire with fire in the attic on Forwood Court. First arriving units reported a two-story single family dwelling with fire showing through the roof. Command immediately requested a tanker strike team due to the lack of fire hydrants/water supply in the area and a second alarm assignment. Shortly thereafter, crews from Squad 303 and other Baltimore County units arrived and conducted an immediate search of the dwelling to ensure all occupants were safely evacuated. Engine 302 responded to the incident as part of the tanker strike team and transported water to the scene from designated fill sites. Due to a partial roof collapse and lack of water available to units on scene, command ordered all crews operating in the structure to evacuate and assume defensive exterior operations. Crews operated on the scene for over four hours.
