Late Night Rescue On Beltway: Rescue Box 14-60
February 24, 2010 - At approximately 10:50pm, Lutherville Volunteers were alerted to respond to a multi-vehicle motor vehicle accident on the inner loop of Interstate 695 between the JFX and the Harrisburg Expressway. Responding units arrived at location, assessed patients in multiple vehicles, and requested a rescue box as one vehicle with an injured subject was resting against the jersey wall, limiting access to the patient. Station 30 was then alerted for the rescue assignment and members immediately responded with Squad 303. Crews then utilized Squad 303's portable winch to carefully move the vehicle off the wall to gain access to the patient. After removal of the driver's side door, the patient was then extricated, packaged and transported to a local hospital.
