Engine and Squad Run House Fire in Glen Arm: Fire Box 38-07

July 10, 2010 - At approximately 10:30am, Station 30 was alerted to respond to the report of a dwelling fire on Holly Branch Court off of Dulaney Valley Road in Glen Arm. As Long Green's district has no hydrants, Lutherville responded with Engine 302, which contains 1,000 gallons of water. While en route, Station 38 (Long Green) units arrived, established command, advised heavy smoke showing from the basement and requested a working fire assignment along with several tankers. As the third arriving engine, Engine 302's crew immediately advanced a handline toward the basement, making an initial attack on the fire. Squad 303 also responded as part of the working fire assignment and assisted with ventilation, performed overhaul, and secured utilities. It was reported that multiple contractors conducting work at the residence suffered serious burns. Crews remained on scene for approximately four hours.
