Jack-Knifed Tractor Trailer with HazMat: Local Box 30-80
October 14, 2011 - At approximately 5:00am, Station 30 was alerted to respond to the report of a motor vehicle accident with injury on the ramp between outerloop of I-695 and I-83 North (Harrisburg Expressway) in Lutherville. Engine 307 responded and arrived moments later to find a jack-knifed tractor trailer with one of the saddle fuel tanks punctured as a result of the accident. Due to the leak, Engine 307 requested additional resources to the scene, including HazMat 114 as well as an emergency response unit from the Maryland Department of the Environment. Crews remained on scene for approximately 1 hour.
