Squad 303 Special Requested to Accident in Catonsville: Rescue Box 04-62
June 30, 2012 - At approximately 3:15am, Station 30 was alerted to respond to the report of an overturned vehicle with one patient trapped on the ramp from the inner loop of Interstate 695 to Frederick Avenue in Catonsville. Due to the nature of the call, Squad 303 was special requested, specifically for vehicle stabilization purposes / use of the crane. Squad 303 immediately responded and while en route, initial crews arrived to find one vehicle overturned into a tree down an embankment with one patient heavily entrapped. Due to the complexity of the incident and an extended extrication, additional resources were requested along with the Shock Trauma Go-Team. After an extended drive of approximately 15 minutes, Squad 303 arrived on scene while rescue crews from Station 35 (Arbutus), Station 32 (Pikesville), and Station 13 (Westview) extricated the patient, who was in critical condition and was transported to a local trauma center. Units remained on scene for approximately 45 minutes.
