Squad 303

2008 Pierce Velocity Heavy Duty Rescue

Share

Squad 303 is a 2008 Pierce Velocity Heavy Duty Rescue and seats up to eight personnel. As LVFC represents one of few stations equipped for “Heavy Rescue”, this specific piece of apparatus serves a first-due “rescue” coverage area of approximately 45-square miles, which includes the communities of Towson, Lutherville, Timonium, Ruxton, Stoneleigh, Cockeysville, Brooklandville, Greenspring, Hampton, Parkville, Long Green, Jacksonville, and Hereford.

Due to the unique tools and capabilities of this piece of apparatus, in addition to responding to rescue assignments (vehicular entrapment, high angle rescue, water rescue, and building / trench collapses) throughout central Baltimore County, Squad 303 also responds to fires assigned either as a rescue or a floodlight unit.

Squad 303 key equipment features include: a 10-ton National Crane; a 20,000 lb. bumper mounted winch; a 30kw Harrison hydraulic generator; a full complement of Holmatro Core Technology hydraulic rescue tools including multiple spreaders, cutters, rams and combi tools; and, a Will-Burt light mast.
